Luther Daniel Ransom Sr.

Mr. Luther Daniel Ransom Sr., 85, of Hornbeak passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at his home.
Funeral services were to be conducted 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother James Gunter was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation was to be held at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. today.
Family members were to serve as pallbearers.
Luther was born March 15, 1936, in Hornbeak, son of the late Rice A. Crafton Ransom and Lucille (Robin-son) Ransom. He married Patricia (Dove) Ransom Aug. 2, 1963. She survives. He was a welder for 21 years for the former Lear Siegler and American Metal Company in Union City. He retired from Kohler after 22 years. Luther raised over 90 peach trees and loved being involved with the Flea Market in Lake County. He was a member of Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he was baptized on May 23, 2021.
He is also survived by two daughters, Teresa Hutchison (James) of Troy and Sandra Basham (T.J.) of Murray, Ky.; three sons, Danny Ransom of Evansville, Ind., and David Ransom and Timothy Ransom, both of Hornbeak; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Hurley Ransom of Woodland Mills.
