CRITICAL NEED

CRITICAL NEED — Lifeline Bloodmobile phlebotomist Kandace Williams (from left) of Jackson assisted Brandy Jones, Melinda Cooper, Melissa Reeves and Mallory Bolding, all of Union City, this morning in the parking lot at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City as they prepared to give blood during this critical time amid COVID-19 concerns. Because of the threat of the coronavirus, many blood drives in the area have been canceled, which has left a shortage. The Union City location was available until noon today. Anyone else wishing to give blood today is encouraged to visit the bloodmobile from 2-5:30 p.m. at West Tennessee Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Lifeline is encouraging donors to use the online donor registration form on the website www.lifelinebloodserv.org to save time at the donation site. A blood drive is also scheduled for E.W. James in Union City from 1-7 p.m. Monday.
