Elizabeth Black

Elizabeth Courtney Black, 23, of Oxford, Miss., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, at University of Tennessee Methodist Transplant Center in Memphis.
A memorial service was held Saturday at 6 p.m. in the chapel at Waller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ann Kelly officiating.
Visitation was  held from 3:30 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
A local visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the home of David and Beth Caldwell Easterwood in South Fulton.
She was born in Union City to Michael Clayton Black and Suzanne Marie Giles Black, and was a 2014 graduate of Oxford High School. She attended the University of Mississippi and was currently attending Itawamba Community College, studying health information technology.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oxford.
Elizabeth was pure sunshine, with a kind and gentle heart. She loved her pets and animals and was passionate about animal rescues.
She enjoyed traveling, movies and especially the love of music. She thoroughly enjoyed attending concerts with her best friend, her mother. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John T. and Nelda Black.
She is survived by her mother, Suzanne Giles Black of Oxford; her father, Clay Black and his wife, Susan Caldwell Black, of Fulton; her grandparents, Donald and Nancy Giles of Water Valley, Miss.; and her stepbrother, Jordan Tinkle of Murfreesboro.
