Mrs. Emily Frances Brown, 87, of the Shawtown community passed away 11:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at Obion County Nursing Home.
Visitation was to be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today. Private burial for the family will follow at Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stacy Rudd, Remington Rudd, Blake Rudd, Shawn Robert Newsom and Joe Johnson.
Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Hornbeak, daughter of the late Virtle and Roxie Lee (Fagan) Lovett. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Hornbeak High School. Frances married Robert Marshall Brown Dec. 3, 1950. He preceded her in death June 11, 1998. She had been employed by Salant & Salant over 35 years. During this time, she also worked for Thompson Company in Parsons and Obion Manufacturing. Frances won “Queen of the Kitchen” several times at the Obion County Fair and was honored by the Obion County Sheriff’s Department for making new covers for their bullet proof vests. She loved making aprons and doing some upholstery work. Frances was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Troy.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Ann Brown of Union City and Beverly Jane Newsom of the Shawtown community; three grandchildren, Brandy Lee Rudd of Hornbeak, Shawn Robert Newsom of Martin and Nichol Frances Pritchard-Johnson of Memphis; three great-grandchildren, Blake Rudd of Tiptonville, Tessla Rudd of Jackson and Remington Rudd of Hornbeak; and one brother, Dwight Lovett of Troy.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Nell Cunningham and Peggy Margaret Sepanski.
