CHIMES KICKS OFF — Chimes for Charity co-chairmen Audrey Gregg, current treasurer of the Union City J’Cettes, and Ben Hopkins, president of the UC Jaycees, checked dates on a calendar Tuesday as they discussed plans for the 2019 drive. The Chimes office will officially open for the season Monday to begin accepting applications for food baskets to be delivered to less fortunate families and individuals around Obion County on Christmas Eve. The office, located inside the Main Street office in downtown Union City, will be open weekdays from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Nov. 15, which is the application deadline. Basket applications will be taken by phone if applicants call the Chimes office at 599-4542 during office hours. They may also be filled out online using a Google form which will be live on Chimes’ Facebook page starting Monday. Paper applications may be dropped in a box just inside the door of the Main Street office.
