SWEET TREAT — Naomi McGee (left) took a breath and a look at her competitor, Maisey Crosson, before continuing to devour a whipped cream pie during the Obion County CornFest pie eating contest Saturday all without the assistance of their hands. Neither was fast enough for Jose Valencia (not pictured), who ate all his pie first. Others selected during a blind draw of children who registered for the chance to compete were Rushdon Howell and Andie Fraley. Following the pie eating contest, Crosswind Church youth pastor Coltyn Sensing took a pie to the face for raising the most money for PBS television station WLJT. Other local celebrities participating and raising money were Discovery Park of America’s Scott Williams, Union City Coca-Cola Bottling Company’s Terry Richie and Sullivan Dentistry’s Nell Ray.
