Faye Davis

Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be noon Friday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, with the Rev. Tommy Jowers officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until noon at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Morris Dunlap, Adam Dunlap, James Gurien, Kenneth Gurien, William Adcock and Carl Adcock.
Born Tuesday, March 12, 1935, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Tharpe and the late Mary Murtle (Tatum) Tharpe. Mrs. Davis was a retired employee of National Can Company in Clearing, Ill.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Davis of Springville, whom she married March 5, 1971, in Chicago; her son, James Reed, and his wife, Jennifer, of Marcels, Ill.; three daughters, Delilah Smith and her husband, Wayne, of Troy, Debby Rowland and her husband, Romace, of Springville and Teresa Adcock of Wright City, Mo.; three brothers, Alton Tharpe of Pensacola, Fla., J.W. Tharpe of Newbern and Larry Tharpe of Finley; four sisters, Louise Lyons of Obion, Shirley Carnell of Newbern, Peggy Rainey of Obion and Sherry Dunlap of Dyersburg; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Kate Wagenecknecht and Janie Hollingsworth; her great-granddaughter, Maggie Gurien; and her son-in-law, Daniel Adcock.
