Lottie Perkins

She previously lived in Union City for more than 47 years.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church in Sitka Saturday. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Burial will be at Cloverdale Cemetery in Milan and the repast will follow at Moore’s Chapel in Sitka. A visitation in Union City will be held at Rawls Funeral Home Friday from 4-6 p.m.
She was born to the late Dallas and Vinnie Barksdale in Carroll County. She graduated from the former Gibson County Training School in Milan in May 1945. She was employed as a chef in restaurants in Milan and Union City for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Moore’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Sitka and New Hope Freewill Baptist Church and Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Union City.
She was preceded in death by her only son, James “Pug” Perkins, July 2010.  
She leaves to mourn her death two siblings, her sister, Evelyn Hood of West Memphis, Ark., and her brother, James Barksdale of Indianapolis; her guardians, nephew Kenneth B. Hurt and wife Varetta Hurt of Paducah; her sisters-in-law, Annie Lee Perkins and Carrie Perkins; and host of other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
