Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Living Word Church in Hornbeak, with the Rev. Archie Larry officiating.
Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Dec. 19, 1947, in Hornbeak, son of the late Paul and Eunice Velma (Willett) Wherry. He was a highway maintenance employee for the State of Tennessee and was a member of Living Word Church.
He is survived by his son, John Anthony “Amps” Wherry and his wife, Amy, of Obion; his sister, Carolyn Randolph of Hornbeak; and three grandchildren, Hunter Wherry, Cain Cash Wherry and Merry Allison Wherry.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Merry Sue Wherry on Aug. 28, 2012.
