Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Bobby Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in Troy’s Terrace Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Dave Bragg, Kenny Beard, Jim Robinson, Darrel Butler, Jackie Childress and Jimmy Gwaltney.

He was born Jan. 14, 1934, in the Polk Station community, son of the late Walter Ray Fitz and the late Gerling (Thornton) Dedmond. He was married to the former Nancy Lou Nicks, who survives, and was a heavy equipment operator who had been employed with Northwest Tennessee Disposal. He was a member of Troy Main Street Church of Christ and was an Obion County constable for more than 20 years.
He is also survived by his daughter, Phyllis Overle of Germantown, Md.; his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Doris Fitz of Troy; three granddaughters, Jessica Butler of South Fulton, Kimberly Drollinger of Germantown, Md., and Adrienne Baker of Dumfries, Va.; his grandson, Sterling Overle of Germantown, Md.; two great-grandchildren, Decklon Baker and Quinn Baker, both of Dumfries; and his half sister, Judy Joyner of Hornbeak.
He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Irene Fitz; his stepsister and his stepbrother.
