Carl Tibbs
Services were 3 p.m. Sunday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Revs. Tony Smith and Phillip Cook officiating. Burial followed in Mount Ararat Cemetery near Troy.
Pallbearers were Bobby and Pat Hall, Jon and Allison Vallee, Charlie and Dawn Guy, James and Debbie Ursery, Bill and Judy Wilder, Nan Castellaw and Terry Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were Heather Franks, Shawn Johnson, Tara Burress, Becky Menees, Annah Daniel, Jessica Browning, Callie Darnall, Will McBride, Mark Collier, Cody Hutchens, Austin Hutchens, Jonan Vallee and Jack Vallee.
The family requests that memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. 482, Union City, TN 38281.
He was born Nov. 13, 1957, in Louisville, Ky., son of Judy (Holt) Hutchens of South Fulton and the late Wayne Tibbs. He married the former Teresa McEwen Oct. 23, 1981. She survives. He worked in the banbury utility relief department at HTS Mixing/Titan Tire and was a former employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where he had worked for more than 20 years.
He was a member of Mount Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Chris Butts of Dresden; his son, Clint Tibbs of Troy, and his fiancée, Kassadie Mullins of Union City; his granddaughter, Lynlee Jo Butts of Dresden; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kim and Greg Becker of Pacific, Mo., and Bonnie and Steve Collier of Fulton; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Brandy Hutchens of South Fulton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe L. and Ann McEwen of Troy; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Nancy and Ronnie Johnson and Bo McEwen, all of Troy, and Beth and Jeff McBride of Rives; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and by his stepmother, Wanda Tibbs.
