Jackie Long

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for graveside services. Hornbeak Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was of the Baptist faith and was a 1944 graduate of South Fulton High School and a 1973 graduate of Mayfield-Graves County Vocational School. The owner of the Dixie Duds Thrift Shop in Fulton,  she had retired from the Obion County School System and then opened Jackie’s Furniture of South Fulton, where she was the former owner and operator.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Sowell of South Fulton, formerly of Memphis; her son, William David Long of Mayfield, Ky.; her grandson, Adam Sowell of South Fulton; and three great-grandchildren; Ryan Sowell, Hollie Sowell and Justin Sowell, all of South Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Long; and her parents, DeWitt Matthews and Era Mildred (Lowe) Matthews Freeman.
