Hattie Matheny

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Dr. Vann Kissell officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Matheny, Shane Matheny, Waylon Matheny, Josh Matheny, David Matheny, Austin Matheny, Cameron Matheny and Garrett Matheny. Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Greer, Johnny Guy, Brian Wilder, Bill Wilder, Glenn Rudd, Joe Caksackkar, Charlie Strain, Mike Driggers, Larry Farley, Ronnie Johnson and Gary Duren.
She was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Obion County, daughter of the late Charles Lee and Nannie Belle (Davis) Nix. She married Paul David “Bill” Matheny Sept. 24, 1947. He passed away Sept. 12, 1991. She was a homemaker and was a baby sitter for numerous children.
She was a member of Troy First Baptist Church and was a 50-year member of Troy Chapter 432 Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Jennifer Matheny, Larry and Phyllis Matheny and Pete and Anita Matheny, all of Troy; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rhetta Turner of Bald Knob, Ark., and Louise McMahan of Conway, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Paul David Matheny Jr.; and three sisters, Georgia Duren, Dortha Mitchell and Hessie Johnson.
