Truman Johnson

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Union City Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Justin Hiens officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery near Fulton.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at the church.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Josh Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Joe Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Frank Johnson and Tim Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Charlie T Breakfast Club and employees of Union City Glass.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church building fund; St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; St. Louis Shriners’ Hospital; the Gideons; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
He was born Oct. 17, 1945, in Hickman County, Ky., son of the late Buford and Beatrice (Holt) Johnson. He married the former Linda Mavis Brockwell May 15, 1965. She survives. He was the owner and operator of Union City Glass and had been in the glass business for more than 50 years.
He was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He also served on the Obion County Highway Commission. He was active in the Awana Club of Jackson, Mich., and was a former member of Loomis Park Baptist Church there, where he also served as a deacon. He was an avid University of Kentucky fan, an outdoorsman and a godly man.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Kim Johnson of South Fulton; seven grandchildren, Josh Johnson, Whitney Johnson, Abby Johnson, Brook Parnell, Amber Parnell, Ella Claire Burden and Parker Burden; three sisters; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Matthew Daniel Johnson; his sister; and two brothers.
