Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Union City First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Tim Atkins and Curtis McLendon officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Chris Gooch, Mike Hardy, Dave Schlager, George Evans, Jim Towater and Phil Wesner. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Margaret Carter Sunday School Class of Union City First United Methodist Church.
The family requests that memorials be made to the church or to the American Cancer Society.
She was born March 1, 1935, in Gilt Edge, daughter of the late J.O. and Adrinne (Fletcher) Sloan. She married Jimmy David Faulk Dec. 21, 1956. He passed away Feb. 12, 2007. She was a retired teacher and had been supervisor of instruction for the Union City School System, where she worked for more than 30 years. She was a member of Union City First United Methodist Church; the Margaret Carter Sunday School Class, where she also served as a teacher; and United Methodist Women. She had also served on various other committees throughout the church. She was a former member and chairman of the Union City School Board and a member of The Union City Review Club and the Obion County-Union City Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Faulk was an avid tennis player.
She is survived by two daughters and her son-in-law, Cindy and Joey Gallaher of Smyrna and Emily Carson of Clarksville; four grandchildren and the spouses of two of them, Josh and Traci Gallaher of Raleigh, N.C., Zach Gallaher of Smyrna and Savannah and Kevin Layer and Chase Bryant, all of Clarksville; three great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Pam and David White of Bells; and her niece.
She was also preceded in death by her son, David Faulk; her grandson, Ryan Gallaher; and her niece.
