Joe Yergin

Funeral services for Mr. Yergin will be conducted on Friday at Walnut Grove Baptist Church of Kenton, with Bro. Bob Conley, Bro. Johnny Witherspoon and Bro. Wayne Rowan officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Kenton.
He was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Kenton, son of the late Joe and Tommie Davis Yergin. He was a landowner and farmer for many years. He served with the U.S. Navy and was a Mason.  
Mr. Yergin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Reba Cooper Yergin; his daughter, Patricia Rowan and her husband Wayne; two grandchildren, Missi Coleman and Meredith Shelton; five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lela Howard and Helen Renfrow, both of Memphis, and Aaron Yergin, Billy D. Yergin and Coy Yergin, all of Rutherford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Glenn Yergin.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Rutherford and Friday from 11 a.m. until service time at Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
