Edward leaves his loving wife, Martha, who started their life together on May 5, 1950, two days after graduating from high school, on a small dairy farm in Troy.
When he first saw Martha, he was 12 years old and he told his mom, “I’m going to marry her.” He fell for her beauty and gentleness.
He developed his interest in business and worked in sales and management in Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana and Illinois. His was an American story of a young farm boy working hard and rising to become president of an accounting company.
He served his country in the National Guard and was a loving, supportive family man.
He would tell stories of revival meetings he attended with his grandparents that were so memorable to him. As he approached the end of his life, he would sing his favorite hymns in every room of the house. He was known to fall asleep listening to them at night.
Edward will be remembered as a man who helped anyone in need and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
