John Cloar
Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerrell Dawson and the Rev. Mickey Hanks officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Robert Wylie, Doug Roth, John David Hime, Tony Daniel, Randy Worrell and Tim Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be the former Troy High School Class of 1957.
The family requests memorials be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
He was born March 2, 1938, in Obion County, son of the late W.C. “Son” and Sylva Lee (Turner) Cloar. He married Johnnie (Hime) Cloar Dec. 27, 1972. She survives. He worked for the former Reelfoot Packing Co. for 27 years and the Obion County School System in maintenance for 13 years. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, and was a member of Troy Masonic Lodge.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Matthew Pitts of Troy; two grandchildren, Mary Amanda Pitts and Daniel Scott Pitts, both of Troy; his brother, Jim Cloar of Rives; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Jerry Cloar.
