Joy Cooper

Family Funeral Care in Memphis is in charge of arrangements, with graveside services planned for today at 1 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah, Ky.
In 2000, Mrs. Cooper received the Crystal Apple Teacher Award, given by WREC Radio, to outstanding Metro Memphis educators.
Joy was preceded in death by her spouse, the Rev. James T. Cooper; and her parents, Jim and Lucy Ellison.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son and daughter-in-law, James Michael and Cona Cooper of Bartlett; her brother, Harry M. Ellison of Union City; and four grandchildren and the spouse of one, Matthew Boyd Cooper and Michael Dmitriy Cooper, both of Bartlett, Jennifer (Cooper) and Christopher Tanner of Spring Hill, and James Ivan Cooper of Cordova.
