Zelma Wicker

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Galen Dalton and Jason Ishmael officiating. Burial will be in the Denning Cemetery on Orient Road. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
She was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Hornbeak to Betty Lee (Brown) and George Washington Lovett.  She married Harry Wicker Sept. 25, 1937, in Hornbeak and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1997. She was a member of the Church of Christ in West Frankfort. She enjoyed quilting and reading and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Terri Wicker of Topeka, Kan., and Jerry and Ruth Wicker of West Frankfort; her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Charles McDaniel of West Frankfort; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, with another on the way. Also several nieces and nephews survive.
 She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; her daughter, Cathy Harkins in 1972; and by three sisters and four brothers.
