Services were Sept. 17, 2014, at Handy Chapel A.M.E. Church in Gadsden, with burial following there. West Gadsden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born July 7, 1985, in Gadsden. He accepted Christ at an early age when he gave God his heart. He united with New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Union City and continued his Christian fellowship with Handy Chapel A.M.E. Church in Gadsden. He was educated at Union City High School, graduating in the Class of 2003. After graduation, he attended Dyersburg State Community College and Murray (Ky.) State University.  
He had previously worked as a substitute teacher with the Union City School System and had been employed at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. as an associate. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Miami Heat, Murray State Racers and the Tennessee Titans.  
Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Johnnie Johnson Sr.; and his honorary grandparents, Joe Knox and Ealer “Meme” Bass.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Anthony Sturdivant Sr.; his mother, Deloris Sturdivant; his sister, Tieranee Sturdivant of Laurel, Md.; his brother, Anthony Sturdivant Jr.; and his grandparents, Chatmon and Margie Sturdivant and Essie Ray Johnson, all of Gadsden.
