Lamar Lyon

Funeral services were set for today at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. Geoffrey Sikes and Bro. Jimmy Jones officiating. Burial was to follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville.
Pallbearers were to be Paul Mathenia, Ricky Mathenia, Randy Lyon, Bobby Moultrie, Todd Carter and Bill Shepler. Honorary pallbearers were to be Lamar’s grandchildren and Raymon Douglas and Kevin Bing.
The family requests that donations be made to The Well, in care of Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing, 2650 Trenton Road, Clarksville, TN 37040; The Bridge, in care of Exchange Street Church of Christ, 420 Exchange St., Union City, TN 38261; or to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, P.O. Box 428, Union City, TN 38281.
He was born April 26, 1946, in Pikeville, son of the late Leonard Lyon and Laura Nail Lyon.
Lamar was retired from the former Goodyear in Union City and was recently the co-owner of Kona Ice of Clarksville.
He was a member of Church of Christ at Trenton Crossing and was active in prison ministry in Obion County. Lamar was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Mr. Lyon is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda Paré Lyon; his son and daughter-in-law, Landon and Melinda Lyon of Pegram; his daughter and son-in-law, Stacia and Jay Ruger of Copperas Cove, Texas; two sisters and his brother-in-law, Louise and Paul Mosier of Troy and Linda Mathenia of Union City; six grandchildren, Catlin Lyon, Chase Moore, Rheagan Moore, Bryce Ruger, Trenton Ruger and Ashlyn Ruger; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe Lyon and Aniya Lyon.
In addition to his parents, Lamar was also preceded in death by his brother, Leon Lyon.
