Doris Vaughn

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Union City Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chad Matheny officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Bruner, Ryan Matheny, Reed Matheny, Dustin Ray, Patrick Haskins and Garrett Grady. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Meadows, Brian Clark, Jackson Matheny, Jacob Matheny, Walker Johnson and Kevin Reedy.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City Second Baptist Church choir or to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
She was born Oct. 20, 1942, in Obion County, daughter of the late Lonzo and Ruby (Dotson) Matheny. She married Hershel Kenneth Vaughn Sept. 3, 1960. He died July 21, 1998. She was a secretary for Building Solutions in Union City and was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Mike Larken Sunday School Class.
She played piano and composed songs and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Bill Clark of Jonesboro, Ark., and Michele “Miki” and Kevin Meadows of Kingston; her special nephew and his wife, Chad and Melissa Matheny of Yuma, Ariz.; her sister, Carolyn Grady of Troy; her brother, Lonnie Matheny of Troy; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, Jonathan Bruner and Callie Clark, both of Jonesboro, Brian Clark of Ft. Bragg, Ga., Hunter Meadows and Anna Grace Meadows, both of Kingston, and Sara Parker of Paragould, Ark.; and six step-great-grandchildren, Emma Clark, Addison Clark and Jett Clark, all of Ft. Bragg, and Noah Elms, Emi Elms and Jace Elms, all of Jonesboro.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Frances Reedy; two brothers, Carlton Eugene Matheny and David Matheny; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clyde and Joan Rudd.
