Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chip Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be the Rev. Greg Whaley, Danny Whaley, Chuck Wheelis, David Adams, Eric Burkeen and Chad Griffin.
She was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Pinkneyville, Ill., daughter of the late Glen and Edna (Ekbert) Brown. She married James E. Hill Sr. Aug. 31, 1956. He died Jan. 2, 2005.
She had been the owner and operator of the former Hill’s Restaurant in Union City, with her husband, for 51 years. She was a member of Lake Road Baptist Church and was an avid bowler.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Rucker Wheelis of Union City; three grandsons and their spouses, the Rev. Greg and Dara Whaley of Bogalusa, La., Danny and Regina Whaley of Union City and Chuck and Alicia Wheelis of Troy; eight great-grandchildren, Brennan Whaley, Ali Whaley, Connor Whaley, James Whaley, Natalie Whaley, Audrey Whaley, Gavin Wheelis and Katelyn Wheelis; and her sister, Geneva Griffin of Pinkneyville.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda (Hill) Whaley; her son, James E. Hill Jr.; and her brother, Burnell Brown.
