Virginia Bennett

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Perry Grills officiating. Burial will follow at Rohobeth Cemetery in Roellen.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Harrington, Rusty Grills, Hunter Grills, Andy Grills, Cody Grills and J.P. Rudicil.
The family requests that memorials be made to Roellen Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
She was born July 13, 1936, in Obion County, daughter of the late J.W. and Mattie Lou (Davis) Alexander. She married Albert Sidney Bennett Nov. 22, 1962. He survives. She was a retired bookkeeper for  the Union City School System, where she worked for more than 30 years, and was a member of Roellen Baptist Church near Newbern.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years; by two daughters, Pattye Mallard and her fiancé, Rob Hammond of Newbern, and Beverly Bennett of Nashville; and two grandchildren, Allye Mallard and Mitch Mallard, both of Newbern.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Tyler Mallard; two sisters, Mayme Grills and Evelyn Muse; and two brothers, J.L. Alexander and Milton Alexander.
