Martha Joyner

Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at East View Cemetery in Union City, with White-Ranson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Union City and was the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Lucille Joyner. After a brief modeling career in New York, she settled in Memphis, where she worked for the Social Security Administration for more than 35 years.
With the wonderful gift of a servant’s heart, she modeled her strong Christian faith by doing more for others than herself. While never married, she cared for and loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
Ms. Joyner had been a faithful member of Lindenwood Christian Church.
She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Lou Huffstutter, and survived by another sister, Renna Burnett of Memphis.
Her remaining family consists of a host of nieces and nephews who knew her lovingly as “Aggie.” She is also survived by Elaine Bradford, a dear friend who provided the best care imaginable for more than eight years. She was a true gift to Ms. Joyner.
Condolences may be sent to the family at the funeral home website: www.white-ranson.com.
