Jimmy Wilson

A memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with pastor Jeremy Powell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Paul Bartlett, Jim Brown, A.J. Harrell,  Thurman Mobley, Michael Stewart, Ralph Woodard, Royce Aker, Don Reed, Jamie Kemp, Bobby Mosier, Don Bunton, Ricky Rothchild, Eddie Williams and Woody Booth.
They request that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis or to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
He was born Oct. 31, 1950, in Obion County, son of the late Calvin N. “Jack” and Mary (Morrison) Wilson. He married the former Janice Mays Sept. 19, 1992. She survives. He was a retired employee of the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City. He had also retired as a police officer in Obion, having served in that capacity in Troy and Union City, as well.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of four years and was a member of Union City First Baptist Church. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman.
Mr. Wilson is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Neal and Kim Wilson of Birmingham, Ala., and Shane and Paula Cole of Troy; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Lee and Scott Northam of Union City; five grandchildren, Tyler Cole of Memphis, Garrett Northam and Meagan Northam, both of Union City, and Nathan Wilson and Karley Wilson, both of Birmingham; his sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Mike Evans of Memphis; and two nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Cole.
