Juanita Cook

She was a former resident of Union City.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, where visitation will be held an hour prior to services. Burial of ashes will be at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Humane Society in Canton or to the Salvation Army.
She was born May 26, 1928, in Union City, daughter of the late Homer and Callie Mae (Cochran) Miller. She married Herschel Cook Jr. Dec. 16, 1949, in Corinth, Miss. He preceded her in death in 1964.
Juanita was a telephone operator, working for AT&T, Southern Bell and Illinois Bell for 37 years, before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Communication Workers of America and the Telephone Pioneers.
Juanita enjoyed spending time working in her flower garden.
She is survived by two children and her daughter-in-law, Marsha Livers of Peoria, Ill., and Marc and Cheryl Cook of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and two brothers, Billy Ralph Miller and Charles Dale Miller, both of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Homer Miller Jr. and Harold Dean Miller.
