Bobby Lee Seals

Funeral services for Mr. Seals were set for 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern,  with the Rev. Danny Sinquefield officiating. Interment was to follow in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely.
Pallbearers were to be Stephen Arnold, Stanton Arnold, Spencer Arnold, Jimmy Seals, Ricky Seals, James Robert Seals and Jeremy Seals. Honorary pallbearers were to be Nina Paris, Alexandria “Alex” Stradford and Ashlee Stradford.
The family requests that memorials be made to The Salvation Army or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
He was born Friday, Aug. 30, 1929, in Blytheville, Ark., son of the late Clint Seals and the late Lula Seals. He was a former employee of the Gibson County School System, where he served as principal of  Yorkville School; was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett, where he served as a Sunday school teacher; and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, chairman of the deacons and Sunday school teacher.
Mr. Seals received a bachelor of science degree in education from Bethel College and a master of education degree from George Peabody-Vanderbilt Univer-sity in Nashville and earned 45-plus master of education hours from the University of Tennessee. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the Tennessee National Guard, where he retired after 34 years of service to his country.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alice Lee Seals of Arlington; his son, Robert Lee “Robbie” Seals of Lakeland; two  daughters, Teressa Lee Seals of Arlington and Leigh Ann Stradford and her husband, Ben, of Wake Forest, N.C.; three granddaughters, Nina Paris, Alexandria “Alex” Stradford and Ashlee Stradford; and four great-grandchildren, Stephen Arnold, Spencer Arnold, Stanton Arnold and Abigail Arnold.
 He was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Lee Seals; two brothers, Narvel Seals and Paul Seals; and two sisters, Eloise (Seals) Cash and Helen (Seals) Kennon.
