Bubba Warren Jr.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, with the funeral to follow at 2 at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin.

He was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Martin, son of Karl H. and Mayme (Dodd) Warren. He married the former Joyce Browder April 12, 1952. She passed away July 11, 1991.
Karl was the former owner and insurance agent for Chappel Insurance Agency of Martin, retiring in 1987. He began his education at the former University of Tennessee Junior College in Martin, where he lettered in both tennis and football. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served in the South Pacific and flew on numerous missions, completing his military career in occupied Japan.
Upon returning to the states, he finished his education at UT Knoxville and went to insurance school in New York.
He was a member of the Martin Rotary Club and was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer.
A member of Martin First United Methodist Church, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels and We Care.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Kathy and Rick Peabody of Franklin, Karl H. Warren III and Martha (White) Warren of Jackson, Norma and Dr. Vann Kissell of Troy and Melanie and Steve O’Steen of Ormond Beach, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Kathryn Warren of Murfreesboro; and his niece, Mary Dodd Mifflin of Murfreesboro.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nell W. Patton, Dorothy W. Galasso and Mary A. Warren; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Peabody and Owen Parker.
