William ‘Saddlehorse’ Anderson

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with Dr. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery near Troy.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Anderson, Robert Anderson, Corey Heskett, Shane Cole, Russell Hilton and Christopher Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Hood, Richard Hood, Casey Hood, Randy Cole, Donnie Cole and the employees of Ford Construction Co.
He was born Nov. 3, 1935, in Obion County, son of the late Robert Paul and Loyce (Norman) Anderson. He married the former Carolyn Cole March 30, 1959. She survives. He was a truck driver for the Choctaw Division of Ford Construction Co. for 14 years and was the owner of the former Anderson Barbecue in Troy. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a Cumberland Presbyterian.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie (Anderson) and Daniel Melson of Olive Hill; his son and daughter-in-law, William Mark and Rachel Anderson of Ashland, Miss.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Nikki Anderson of Norfolk, Va., Becky and Jerry Menees of Scott City, Mo., Michael Anderson of Memphis, Anna and Larry Joe Daniel of Troy and Callie and Tim Darnall of Lawrenceburg; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two sisters and his brother-in-law, Sue and Charles Fielder and Catherine Hilton, all of Troy; two nephews; and his niece.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Anderson.
