Mary Ellen Sheridan

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson Saturday, with a reception immediately following. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., prior to the service.
Dunn-Quigley Funeral Home in Stow, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to The Laurel Lake Foundation, 200 Laurel Lake Drive, Hudson, Ohio 44236; or to the Foundation, Summa Hospice, P.O. Box 2090, Akron, Ohio 44309-2090.
She was born March 31, 1926, in Memphis, daughter of the late Floyd and Helen Pierce. Mary Ellen grew up in Union City and has resided in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Silver Lake, Ohio, and Marco Island, Fla. She was a charter member of Silver Lake Country Club, and was an avid bridge player and golfer.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George R. Sheridan; and three sisters, Katherine P. Graham, Virginia P. Johnson and Mary Katherine Bondurant.
Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and G. Frederick Compton of Silver Lake; her sister, Betty Ann Keiser of Memphis; three grandchildren and the spouse of one, George Helwagen of Silver Lake, Paul and Bridget Helwagen of Lyndhurst, Ohio, and Jane Carroll-Spelich of Stow; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra Helwagen and Hunter W. Helwagen; her niece and her spouse, Kate and Joe Don House of Clinton, Ky.; and her nephew, Brooks Keiser of Memphis.
