Buford Long

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Ray Cagle officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery near Rives. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. today.
The family requests that memorials be made to First United Pentecostal Church at 1105 Edwards St. in Union City.
He was born March 29, 1928, in Lake County, son of the late J.W. and Flora Ann (Rutledge) Long. He married the former Betty Ann Warner June 25, 1977. She survives. He was a retired employee of the former Hall Printing Co. in Dresden and was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Union City.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Greg Cantrell of the McConnell community; his son, Eddie Gene Long of Martin; his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Jan and Neven Barnett of Troy; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Alice Bailey and Mary Brasure; his grandson, Bobby Paul Brasure; five brothers; and six sisters.
