George Zipp

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Drew Hayes and Terry Hailey officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery, with full military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Zack Cavness, Tommy Wood, Alan Dickinson, Cameron Zipp, Sonny Hopgood and Cameron Sherwood.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
He was born July 7, 1930, in Winkler, Kan., son of the late Robert and Emma (Steffen) Zipp. He married the former JoAnn Bunch Sept. 16, 1955. She survives. He was a retired insurance agent and auto salesman for the former Obion County Motors. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he was a member of Union City Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also a former member of Union City Kiwanis Club and a member of Union City High School Booster Club. He was an avid local sports fan.
He is also survived by his daughter, Paula Cavness of Union City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Tara Zipp of Ft. Smith, Ark., Greg and Patty Zipp of Mandeville, La., and Mark and Dena Zipp of Medina; seven grandchildren, Audra Wood, Erin Dickinson, Cameron Zipp, Zack Cavness, Jace Zipp, Hannah Cavness and Bryn Zipp; six great-grandchildren, Lucas Wood, Brett Wood, Seth Wood, Ella Dickinson, Drew Dickinson and Maci Dickinson; three sisters, Mildred Zipp, Virginia Zipp and Patti Toozer, all of Overland Park, Kan.; his brother, Norman Zipp of Shawnee, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers.
