Mary Lee Nelms

Services were 2 p.m. Sunday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rives.
Pallbearers were Trevor Cole, Bill Bell, Shannon Hays, Daniel Pettit, Logan Cole, Tristin Cole and Thomas Bell.
The family requests that memorials be made to the building fund of Union City Second Baptist Church at 831 Everett Blvd., Union City, TN 38261.
She was born June 8, 1913, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Arthur and Clyde (Brewer) Pate. She married Thomas Pleasant Nelms Feb. 9, 1946. He died July 18, 1976. She was retired after having worked in the cafeteria of the former Rives Elementary School for 14 years. Mrs. Nelms was a member of Union City Second Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and her son-in-law, Dianne Stanfill of Dresden and Sherry and Jerry Cole of Union City; four granddaughters and their husbands, Shanda and Bill Bell of Cumming, Ga., Selena Hodges of Sevierville and DeAnna and Shannon Hays and Tommy and Daniel Pettit, all of Dresden; her grandson and his wife, Trevor and Pam Cole of Kirksey, Ky.; two great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; five step-great-granddaughters; a step-great-great-granddaughter; her sister-in-law, Mildred Nelms of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Roy Pate; and her sister, Kathleen Shore.
