Billy Ray Morris

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chelsea Morris, Lonnie Bratton, Johnny Reynolds, Dion Applewhite, Shawn Applewhite and Dub Leland.
The family requests that photos of Mr. Morris be brought to be placed on a bulletin board so copies can be made.
He was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Union City, son of the late Cecil and Dorothy (Gray) Morris. He was a retired U.S. Naval veteran who served his country for 23 years, including service in Vietnam, and was also a retired employee of Northwest Correctional Institution in Tiptonville. He was Church of Christ.
He is survived by two daughters, Chelsea Morris and Autumn Meehan, both of Virginia Beach; two sons, Charles Ray Morris of Huron and Christopher Lynn Morris of Union City; seven grandchildren, Austin Morris of Dyersburg, Kristen Morris of Troy, Dylan Morris of Samburg, Dakoda Meehan, Della Meehan and Nikolai Butera, all of Virginia Beach, and Sophia Morris of Sharon; and two sisters, Joan Henson of Hornbeak and Betty Applewhite of Samburg.
