Eugene King

Services were 2 p.m. Sunday at First Church of God in Hickman, with the Rev. Gary Poe officiating. Burial followed in Hickman City Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Brett Shannon, Dan Bailey, Josh Gooding, Richard Holloway, Jason Hansbrough and Clint Wilson.
Strong Funeral Home in Hickman was in charge of arrangements.
Eugene was born Aug. 26, 1969, in Granite City, Ill., son of Brenda (Yates) Johnson of Hickman and the late Leo Eugene King Sr. He was employed as a material handler at Green Plains Renewable Energy Co. near Troy and Obion and was a member of First Church of God in Hickman. He was a retired volunteer fireman with the Hickman Fire Department.
Survivors also include his daughter, Kayla (King) Garrett Somerfield of Hickman; three brothers, Donald King of Elsberry, Mo., and Lynn Bailey Jr. and Mike Bailey, both of Hickman; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy (King) and Brian Turner of Rives,  Robin (Bailey) and Jeff Gooding of Hickman and Legena (King) and Sean Erwin of Owensville, Mo.; his granddaughter, Zoie Somerfield of Hickman; and two special young men he raised as his own sons, Kevin Freeman and Kyle Freeman, both of Union City.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, David King.
