Dorothy Calhoun

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jim Calhoun and Tim Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 p.m. Friday.
Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City First United Methodist Church or the Obion County Public Library.
She was born Oct. 3, 1924, in Obion County, daughter of the late Calvin Edgar and Sadie (Howell) Upchurch. She married Gene Calhoun July 5, 1946. He died Oct. 13, 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of Union City First United Methodist Church and the Margaret Carter Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She was also a member of Athenian Review Club.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Ray Capps of Martin; her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Mary Ann Calhoun of Jackson; and six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lula Jeanette King.
