Louis Steward

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown Chapel AME Church in Union City, with the Rev. Clay Holiday officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday at Rawls Funeral Home in Union City.
He was born Dec. 18, 1919, in Rives, son of the late Odie and Alma (Holmes) Steward. He was a member of Brown Chapel AME Church and had been a semi-truck driver for the former Moore Produce Co. for 15 years. He had also been a 50-year employee of the former Cultra Landscaping Co.
He is the widower of Mary Edna Steward and is survived by two daughters, Betty Hillard of South Fulton and Queen Steward of Union City; his daughter-in-law, Katie Steward of Union City; three sons, Paul Steward of Elkhart, Ind., and Billy Steward and Michael Steward, both of Union City; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Bertha Blackwell, Daisy Rogers, Louella Bass, Darnella Johnson and Ruth Bugg; three brothers, Will Steward, Lexie Steward and Cornell Steward; and his grandson, Patrick Steward.
