Barbara Mobbs

According to her wishes, the body will be cremated and her ashes returned to her beloved Union City.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at White-Ranson Funeral Home Saturday. Visitation will begin at noon, with the service to follow at 1.
The family prefers donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to Jeffrey T. Thornton Memorial Fund, Summit Academy, 11508 Main St., Louisville, KY 42043.
She was born Jan. 3, 1938, in Union City, daughter of the late Dewey and Genola Thornton. She was retired from the former Nationsbank in Union City and was a member of First Christian Church.  
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jeana and Jim Coleman of Bakersfield, Calif.; her son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Dorothy Pigue of Alpharetta, Ga.; her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Amanda Pigue of Birmingham, Ala.; three grandsons, David, Michael and Robert Pigue; her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Marjorie Thornton of Louisville, Ky.; and her sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and John Williams of Paducah, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Carolyn Pearce and Mary Frances Gold.
