Lisa Huffstetler

The family will receive guests and relatives from 4-7 p.m. today, with a memorial service at 7 at New Hope Christian Church at 3300 Kirby Whitten Road in Bartlett. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Christian Church Legacy Fund.
Memphis Funeral Home in Bartlett is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Huffstetler had been a professor of political science at the University of Memphis since 2003. She received her B.A. in 1991 from the University of California, Riverside, and her M.A. in 1997 from the University of South Carolina.
She was active in missionary ministries in Mexico when she lived in California and was a member at New Hope Christian Church. She also participated in the Boy Scouts of America with her sons. Mrs. Huffstetler was a Foundation for Defense of Democracy Fellow and the coordinator for University of Memphis Tennessee Legislature Intern program. She was also a member of the Tennessee National Guard Auxiliary Association.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Greene; and her father, Wendell Ray Greene.
Mrs. Huffstetler is also survived by three sons, Charles Wendell “C.W.” Huffstetler of Memphis and Jackson Huffstetler and Benjamin Huffstetler, both of Bartlett; two brothers and her sister-in-law, Terry and Debra Greene of San Bernardino, Calif., and Chris Greene of Memphis; her mother, Maxine Greene of Memphis; numerous nieces and nephews; and her mother-in-law, Jane Huffstetler of Union City.
