Pearlie Smothers

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wynnburg Baptist Church, with the Revs. Larry Byassee and Ralph Buckley officiating. Interment will follow in Hornbeak Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from noon until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be James Watkins, Grant VanBibber, Jarrod Webb, Mark Winchester, Jeff Pruitt and Dwight Smothers.
She was born May 30, 1929, daughter of the late Jack Mathina and the late Susie (Evans)  Mathina. She was a retired seamstress for Henry I. Siegel in Tiptonville and was a member of Wynnburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Ricci Smothers of Nevada, Mo.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and James Watkins of Tiptonville, Sondra Smothers of Dyersburg and Pat and the Rev. James Gunter of Obion; her  brother, Otis Mathina of Hayti, Mo.; her  sister, Margaret Smothers of Wynnburg; and 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, J.C. Smothers; four brothers, Jerry Mathina, Bobby Mathina, Leon Mathina and Wayne Mathina; and two sisters, Bonnie Smith and Brenda Mauldin.
