Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Herb Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. They request that memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
Pallbearers will be Steve Brimm, Randy Davis, Clint Wright, Tony Jenkins, Scott Vaughn and Jody Tarkington. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Wright and Bart Wright.
He was born Sept. 13, 1945, in Gary, Ind., son of the late James Richard and Willodean (Uselton) McGowan. He married the former Anna Faye Vincent Sept. 4, 1965. She survives. He was a retired maintenance employee and truck driver for Waymatic Inc. and was a member of Fulton First United Methodist Church.
He is also survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rhonda McGowan of South Fulton and Kevin McGowan and Richard “Punkin” and Monica McGowan, all of Union City; two sisters, Priscilla Adkins of Union City and Pat Vincent of South Fulton; two brothers, Jimmy McGowan of Union City and Frank McGowan of Troy; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ricky McGowan and Jerry Lee McGowan; and his grandson, James Kevin McGowan.
