Buddy Sasser
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Halls Funeral Home in Halls, with Dr. Cecil Sewell, pastor of Union City First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Halls Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of services Thursday at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorials be made to FSH Society for Muscular Dystrophy by going to www.fshsociety.org and following instructions at the site.
He was born March 28, 1948, son of Robert and Jean Sasser.
He was retired with a medical discharge from the U.S. Army, where he had served two tours of duty in Vietnam as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He attended Dyersburg High School and the former Memphis State University.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Amanda Sasser; two grandsons, Dakota and Ayden; two sisters, Debra Reed of Nashville and Tanna Canada of Newbern; his brother, Robert Sasser of Belleville, Kan.; and his aunt, Barbara (Sasser) Jones of Union City and her family.
