Jerry Carter

Charles Jerry Carter, 67, of the Walnut Log community died 9:15 p.m. Jan. 15, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah in Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Log Baptist Church. Brother Eric Burress will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home 5-8 p.m. Friday and at Walnut Log Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Riley, Richard Mummert, Dustin Mummert, Chris-topher Stafford, Arliss Sullivan and Rodney Carter.
Jerry was born Sept. 9, 1946, in Obion County, son of the late Charles Benjamin and Hazel (McQueen) Carter. He married Glenda (Yates) Carter Oct. 22, 1976. She survives. Mr. Carter had been employed at Sigri Carbon in Hickman, Ky., and was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church.
He is also survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Theresa and Derrick Mummert of Huntingdon, Jennifer Sullivan of Obion and Candy and John Coble of Kenton; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Gwen Stafford of Obion; four sisters, Elizabeth Ann “Boo” Armour of Woodland Mills, Sue Parnell of Walnut Log and Brenda Wilkins and Doris Carter, both of Union City; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ted Carter and Joe Carter.
