Hershell Tittle

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Revs. Steve Carr, Ralph Buckley, Charles Southerland and Rick Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Roberson, Randy Roberson, Terry Roberson, Carl Mills, Tim Bunch and Michael Powell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Graham, Marshall Barker, Jimmy Leake, Franklin Clark, George Hall, Paul Bargery, Kevin Bargery, Wayne Hatley, Billy Davis, Cary Calhoun, Johnny Williams, Jimmy Hawkins, Jack Clark and Jake Carr.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Dawn Tittle Memorial Scholarship, MTSU Development Office, Campus Box 109, Murfreesboro, TN 37132.
He was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Fulton, Miss., son of the late Loris and Celia (Plunkett) Tittle. He married the former Jean Gant May 23, 1954. He was a retired sawyer from Reelfoot Lumber Co.
He was a board member of the Reelfoot Utility District and Reelfoot Arts and Crafts Festival and was a member of the West Tennessee Singing Association and Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was a lifelong gospel music singer, traveling and ministering in area churches for 50 years.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Jeanne Tittle of Union City; his granddaughter and her husband, Holly (Tittle) and Stephen Turner of Union City; his great-granddaughter, Stella Turner of Union City; three brothers, Eldon Tittle of Ridgely and Aaron Tittle and James Clinton Tittle, both of Troy; and two sisters, Nell McNeal of Murfreesboro and Janie Adams of Hermitage.
He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Dawn Tittle; his sister, Joyce Walker; and his brother, Steve Tittle.
