Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Lake Road Baptist Church near Union City.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Gilland Ridge Baptist Church near St. Charles, Ky. Brother J.W. Haire and Brother Chip Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Nortonville, Ky.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Gamblin, Scott Falk, Derek Falk, Jeremy Britt, Travis Skinner and Zach Skinner. Honorary pallbearer will be Angelia Gamblin.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Lake Road Baptist Church, 1366 East Highway 22, Union City, TN 38261; or Gilland Ridge Baptist Church, 1100 McGregor Road, Nortonville, KY 31441.
Mr. Gamblin was born April 21, 1934, in the small community of Crossroads, Ky., son of the late Casper and Othine (Lile) Gamblin. He married the former Cathy Hoagland July 27, 1990. She survives. Mr. Gamblin retired after 49 years as a coal miner and a federal mine inspector. He moved from Kentucky to Union City with his wife in 2006 to pursue his love of fishing on Reelfoot Lake. He attended Lake Road Baptist Church and was a member of Gilland Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Gamblin was a Mason for 58 years with the Nortonville, Ky., Masonic Lodge. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He is also survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Delilah and Bruce Falk, Felicia and Willie Skinner and Angelia Gamblin; his son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Trina Gamblin; his stepson and his wife, Trice and Susan Troutman; and his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Sherly Abbott. He was also blessed to have 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gamblin; his granddaughter, Mendy Falk; and his twin brother, Harold Gamblin.
