Bobby D. Newton

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Jackson First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Justin Wainscott and Dan Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens near Union City.
Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to Jackson First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
He was born in Fulton, son of the late Ernest B. and Lela Faye (Barnes) Newton. He was a longtime organist for Jackson First Baptist Church, where he was a member. He also taught music at South Side High School in Jackson and at Jackson Central Merry High School. He gave private piano lessons at his home.
Survivors also include two nieces, Belinda Kimbel of South Fulton and Amanda Goff of Lewisville, Texas; two nephews, David Newton of South Fulton and Tommy Paschal of The Villages, Fla.; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews and cousins.
