Dennis Bowling
He was the father of Union City High School football coach Darren Bowling.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bowling Chapel Church in Crane, Mo., with Westrip Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Bowling Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the church.
The family requests that memorials be made to Bowling Chapel or to United Methodist Committee on Relief.
He was born Oct. 13, 1943, in Omak, Wash., son of the late Lester Wilburn and Jewel Mae (Wells) Bowling. He attended Southwest Missouri State and was of the Methodist faith. He had worked in the ministry for over 30 years and last fall he had moved to Harrisville to become the pastor of the United Methodist Church there.
He is also survived by another son and two daughters-in-law, Dr. Lester Shawn and Amy Bowling of Pensacola, Fla., and Dawn Bowling of Union City; and six grandchildren, Carmen Bowling, Christopher Bowling, Chase Bowling, Meri-Morgan Bowling, Taylor Bowling and Tyler Bowling.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Nedra Smith.
