Phil Wehman

Services were Saturday at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, with burial in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3210 Social Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37415.
He was born in 1928 in Union City to Roy Cecil Wehman and Martha (McAlister) Wehman. He graduated from Union City High School and was an Eagle Scout. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Following his service in the Navy, he attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he graduated with a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering. He was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.
He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. He worked for DuPont and was a charter member and president of the Chattanooga American Institute of Industrial Engineers chapter, president of the Chattanooga Industrial Personnel Club, president of the Hamilton County chapter of the UT Alumni Association and a member of the UT Alumni board of governors.
Until his death, he was an active member of the International Society of Antique Scale Collectors.
He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Wehman of Chattanooga; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Carolyn Wehman of Fishers, Ind.; his brother, Roy Cary Wehman of Union City; and his nieces, Martha (Wehman) Townes of Union City, Nell (Wehman) Smith of Newbern and Paula Hearn Moore of Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 52 years, George Anna (Hearn) Wehman.
